Gemini is the third sign of the Western zodiac. In ancient Egypt, the sign was first known as the Two Stars and took its name from the stars Castor and Pollux, the brightest of the constellation. Gemini is a Mutable, Masculine, Air sign ruled by Mercury. Those born with the Sun in Gemini are characterized as being good communicators, perceptive and versatile.
Mutable signs are associated with the ability to adapt to situations and the behavior of others, tending to be broad thinking and compromising. Air signs imply intellectual capacity and communicative abilities. They seek enlightenment and the answers to deep questions. Mostly serious of mind, yet kind of heart. The Masculine association is one of directness and outgoing, extroverted behavior. Apparently confident, although appearances can be deceiving.
Interpretation of the natal chart can be thought of in terms of three major facets of the individual. How you appear to others, your innermost desires and aspirations, and what you are really like. The characteristics associated with your Sun sign, Gemini, are not absolutes and should be seen only as likely dispositions.
Gemini is considered to be the most youthful of the signs. The need to be listened to is often present in Gemini people and they enjoy arguing. They are famous for changing their opinions. At your best, you are witty, logical and spontaneous. At your worst, inconsistent and two-faced and unable to control nervous energy. Active. This word will appear many times in the description of a Geminian. Always on the go and mostly doing more than one thing at a time, Gemini people thrive on variety and change. A bored Geminian is not the best person to be around. Often pushing themselves to exhaustion, they are generally very healthy.
Vocational fulfillment may come late in life for the Geminian. It is not unusual for the career to span several occupations. Real self-development will occur when restlessness is overcome. Jobs that entail tedious or monotonous conditions should be avoided. Many Geminians can be found in journalism and the teaching professions. You are not given to over-emotionalism, but express yourself well in love. Those in an emotional relationship with a Geminian will have a lively time. A natural flirt, partners of Geminians should beware of infidelity.
The Geminian child should be provided with much intellectual stimulation and should be a voracious reader. Parents should indulge the child's likely desire to argue and question. The child should be encouraged to finish what they start. A tendency to skim the surface of subjects should be discouraged. Strict discipline and regimentation is not enjoyed by either the Geminian child or adult. Although necessary to tame the lively Geminian mind, an appreciation of the Geminian nature will make the learning processes much easier.
