Also known as Hades, Master of the underworld and god of cultivation and crops. Pluto is the ninth and farthest planet from the sun. It was discovered in 1930. It is a small planet with a single moon called Charon. Pluto takes 250 years to travel around the Sun and, because of its eccentric orbit, stays in a sign between 13 and 32 years. Pluto moved into Sagittarius in mid 1995, and will stay there until 2014.

As it is relatively fixed in its position, Pluto is regarded as a ‘generational’ rather than a personal influence. The astrological effects of Pluto are yet to be fully understood, but it is associated with the unconscious and creative forces. When well placed in the chart, Pluto bestows business ability and drive. When stressed, there can be tendencies to be obsessive and overly forceful.
