There are many differences between the different element types of Rooster. Below is a broad description of the Rooster personality.

The Rooster is the tenth sign of the Chinese horoscope. The Rooster is Yang and is fixed to the Metal element. The characteristics of the Rooster correspond with the occidental sign of Virgo. Yang is positive, masculine, and associated with the Day. Objective Yang signs depend more on others than themselves. You tend to be outgoing and more physical than spiritual. As all opposites attract in nature, Yang attracts Yin. The Metal element association bestows an ambitious and hard working nature. Metal people tend to be self-reliant and rigid in their outlook, and find it difficult to compromise. Metal people can be more materialistic than others.

Roosters are among the most independent of people, aggressive, brash and overly self-assured. Inwardly, they are generally quite different. Acting for a crowd is a natural ability for those born in the year of the Rooster, a love of being the center of attention. Many Roosters choose professions that place them in front of the public.

Most Roosters are attractive in some way. Especially the dignified and magnetic male. If you ask a Rooster what they think, they will tell you in no uncertain terms. Tact and restraint are words that figure little in your vocabulary. You love to argue, and your will mostly prevails. Not magnanimous in victory, you will rub salt in the wound. In defeat, Roosters have legendary abilities to bounce back as if nothing happened.

It is not unusual for Roosters to have many talents and abilities. You are able to accomplish virtually anything that you set your mind to. In business, Roosters can make excellent administrators and financial controllers. In subordinate positions, Roosters require their duties to be rigidly outlined. Roosters do not improvise well. You are a perfectionist and miss no details. An employer will ultimately be rewarded for his patience and forbearance with the rebellious, authority-hating Rooster.

Inactivity and boredom are your greatest enemies. A bored Rooster is very hard to live and work with. Being egotistical, you can be manipulated by praise and flattery. People either love you or hate you, there seems to be little middle ground. As a lover or marriage partner, you should seek those born in Snake and Ox years. Relationships with Rats, Rabbits and Dogs can be difficult.
